CVS Shopping 5/3/08

Tonight was a great CVS Shopping night. The new May ECB deals are out with some good money makers! I did three transactions and purchased $65.20 of merchandise for 2.57 OOP!!!! Here are my transactions. I forgot to give a coupon on one order so my OOP actually should have been only 1.38. Also, I had several expired CVS brand 3/10 coupons. I had no trouble using them. I actually gave the first one by mistake, and since it went through I decided to try and use the expired ones first!
This how I should have done the orders:

Order #1) --------------------------------------

2 Colgate 360 toothbrushes (3.99 ea)
1 Aquafresh Advantage Toothpaste (2.99)
3 CVS Mouthwashes (Buy 2 get 1 free. 2 at 3.99 ea.)
1 Playskool Baby wipes (3.29) (CVS Brand - Filler item)

Coupons
2 -1.00 off Colgate 360

1 -1.00 off Aquafresh

1 -1.00 off Playskool Wipes.

1 -3.00 off 10.00 CVS Brand purchase

Order #3 (Monthly ECB Deal)--------------------

1 Milk (2.79)

Coupons

1 -3.00 off 15.00

9.97 ECB from previous purchase
.77 Cash
Received 8.37 ECB + 5.58 Gift Card (13.95 Total) Explanation below!

-----------------------------------------------------------
According to the May ECB book, there is a limit of 3 on the Orapicks but there were no books out at my store. So I was going by the label on the counter and it said a limit of 5. The manager wasn't too happy about it but he gave me a gift card for the 5.58 I should have received. You could throw another CVS item in the deal instead of the Orapicks - like the 3.79 Non-drowsy Allergy relief, which gives you 3.79 in ECBs.

The deal would look like this:

3 Orapick (2.79 ea)
1 CVS Allergy relief (3.79)
4.00 in filler item(s) you need!

1 -3.00 off 10.00 CVS brand purchase
1 -3.00 off 15.00

9.97 ECB
.19 (+ maybe a little tax money) Cash
Receive 12.16 ECB

I need a few other things (for free!) so I'm going to work on a few more deals with the items I didn't get tonight!

Oh how funny that the manager had to give you a gift card! I love when mistakes become blessings.

I've had that happen 2 or 3 times! I've learned to ALWAYS check the receipt before leaving the store! I love having the $ on a gift card b/c I don't have to use the full amount in one transaction - like you do with ECB's! I think I'll save it for the little .50 & .75 amounts I need here and there! =)
