for only $5.24.

(click on photo for full view)

(And I'm getting a $20.00 rebate!)

Tonight I had a great shopping trip at CVS! I am so thankful for the $3 off $15 coupons. They really helped me to get some great deals. I did 7 transactions for a total OOP of 5.24.

I started the night with 8.37 in ECB's. Also I did not count what I saved on the Blood Glucose Monitor because I only bought them because they made me money. My total savings would have been over $280. with them.

To help you build your own deals I've highlighted in RED the filler items. You might not need wipes - you can fill in what you need. I've provided the net price (what I paid AFTER the coupons) that way you can fill in with what you have. Just make sure you spend $15 on each transaction before any coupons so you can use the oh-so-wonderful $3 off $15.

Wow - so impressive! I haven't picked up the monitors for this month yet, but you've given me some inspiration.

Thanks! It takes me a while to put the deals together but I would have to work all week at a part-time job to make what I save out of our budget!

Hi Candace,

I followed your link from MSM website - are the CVS diapers earning ECB's? I don't see them in the May ECB book, but I didn't know if they were a weekly item. The reason I ask is b/c I have one in diapers and one on the way in September so I am stocking up and CVS is the way to do it! :)

You can email me at VickyO664 (at) gmail (dot) com, or leave me a comment at my blog. Thanks a lot! :)

The CVS diapers are not earning any ECB's but are Buy 2 Get 1 free. They are priced at 8.99 ea. at my CVS, so that's 3 for 17.89. But if you take off a 3/15 and a 3/10 CVS Brand Coupon. That takes them to $11.89 for 3 packs or less than $4.00 a pack.

I apologize I did not mean to say you earned ECB's but that you still have 10.00 in ECB's for next week, after that deal. I will correct that on the post. I appreciate your comments!

That is awesome!!! Did you do all 7 transactions at the same store?

Candace said...

I did do all 7 at the same store. Thankfully, I had the nicest cashier! He was even teasing me that I paid over 1.00.

I did the first 3 transactions and took them to the car. Then I did the next 4.

By the way, if you want to maintain your sanity - Do not try this with kids along! You have to be able to think.

I had planned out exactly what I was going to do on each transaction before I went, but I had to change a few deals that I had planned because they were out of a few things I wanted. (I wanted more of the Huggies baby wash cloths!- I might try to go back for them yet)

Also, I had each of my coupons grouped by the 7 transactions I had planned and that made it easier at the checkout.

Thanks so much for your comments!

I did do all the transactions at one store, but not all at one time.

I did the first 3 and took them out to the car and then did the last 4.

I've never had trouble doing multiple transactions at this store and have learned which cashiers to use and which ones to avoid!

Okay I have one question, this might come off as me being rude or whatever, but the blood glucose testers, do you have diabetes or did you get them because you made money off of them? I don't have an issue about if you are diabetic, but if your not then I don't really think you or anyone should get them if you dont plan on using them for that reason, because there are diabetics out there that go and get the deals and the machines but there gone due to people getting them because they make money off of it. I don't think the is morally ethical, but thats just me and I am a diabetic.

Your comments give me an opportunity to discuss my viewpoint on CVS shopping.

Although, I do not personally have a problem with someone purchasing a blood glucose monitor that is not diabetic, I'm sure that it would be frustrating to someone who wanted one but it is sold out.

I have at times gone to purchase other items that were sold out, such as body wash and pain relief. I've accepted that as part of the process and it is one of the reasons I try to shop on Monday nights.

However, I also do not have a problem with someone who buys allergy medicine, but has no allergies, or Slim Fast but is not overweight. Do you ever buy things that you will not use?

I do my best to follow the rules as CVS has laid them out. I stick to the amount per household rule as it is posted for each item that they offer for sale.

I feel that as long at I am following these rules I am not being unethical. I do feel it is unethical to purchase over the stated household amounts as listed by CVS.

Any items that I purchase, that I am not able to use, are happily donated to someone who can use them.

I would suggest for anyone who purchases a blood glucose monitor that you personally can not use, find someone who can use it. My dad will be very happy to be using one that I bought because his current one is a very old large type model.

Also, nursing homes and the Vetrans can make good use of them too.
